- 1 uncut loaf brioche bread
- 5 large eggs
- 1 ¾ cups heavy cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. kosher salt
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, divided, plus more for serving
- Maple syrup and powdered sugar, for serving
1. Start by slicing the brioche bread into 1-inch-thick slices.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt until mixture is smooth and fully combined.
3. Place a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
4. Working in batches, dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture for about 15-20 seconds per side, making sure it's completely soaked but not falling apart.
5. Place the soaked bread in the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until it's a beautiful golden brown. Add more butter to the skillet as needed for each new batch of toast.
6. Serve the French toast warm with your favorite toppings, like maple syrup and powdered sugar.
