Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp. instant yeast
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- ¾ cup whole milk, warm
- 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
- 6 cloves minced garlic
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 tsp. oregano
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk with the yeast and sugar. Let this mixture sit for a few minutes until it becomes foamy.
- Next, add the melted butter, salt and flour. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 7-10 minutes until it feels smooth and elastic.
- Put the dough back in the bowl, cover it and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into small, 1-inch balls.
- In a separate bowl, mix the mozzarella, Monterey Jack and Parmesan cheeses with the minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan and spread about 1 cup of the cheese mixture on the bottom.
- Roll each dough ball in the remaining cheese mixture, making sure it's fully coated, then arrange them snugly in the pan.
- Cover the pan again and let the dough rise for another 30-45 minutes, until it looks puffy.
- While dough is rising, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Bake the monkey bread for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
