Ingredients

For Pizza:

  • 1 basic Italian pizza dough portion
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 13 thin slices mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces toppings (pepperoni, chicken, sausage)
  • 5 ounces shredded mozzarella
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 6 fresh basil leaves

For Dough:

  • 3¼ cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon rye flour
  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1½-2 cups warm water
  • 1½ teaspoons honey
  • Olive oil for greasing
Instructions
  1. Make Dough:
    • Mix flours, yeast and salt
    • Add honey-water mixture
    • Knead and rise 1 hour
  2. Assemble Pizza:
    • Press dough into oiled deep dish pan
    • Layer sliced cheese along edges
    • Add sauce, toppings and shredded cheese
  3. Bake:
    • 425° F for 25 minutes
    • Garnish with herbs
