Ingredients
For Pizza:
- 1 basic Italian pizza dough portion
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
- 13 thin slices mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 8 ounces toppings (pepperoni, chicken, sausage)
- 5 ounces shredded mozzarella
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 6 fresh basil leaves
For Dough:
- 3¼ cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon rye flour
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1½-2 cups warm water
- 1½ teaspoons honey
- Olive oil for greasing
Instructions
- Make Dough:
- Mix flours, yeast and salt
- Add honey-water mixture
- Knead and rise 1 hour
- Assemble Pizza:
- Press dough into oiled deep dish pan
- Layer sliced cheese along edges
- Add sauce, toppings and shredded cheese
- Bake:
- 425° F for 25 minutes
