Ingredients
- 1 (12-ounce to 16-ounce) package ziti
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, divided
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 (32-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- Fresh minced parsley, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- Cook pasta in boiling, salted water, uncovered, until pasta is just under al dente. It will continue to cook in the oven. Drain the pasta and return to pot. Toss with a small amount of olive oil so the pasta does not stick together.
- Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain and add to the pasta.
- Add 1 cup mozzarella, ½ cup Parmesan cheese and marinara sauce to the pasta and meat. Stir to combine.
- Transfer mixture to baking dish and top with remaining cheeses. Bake for 20 minutes and until bubbly and golden brown on top. Remove from oven and let sit 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
